The palate puts a full-court press on the senses with gobs of glycerol-laden citrus and juicy white peach, all encased in a lightly oaked frame. Tertiary notes of lemon curd and butter cream add weight to the back. With its ultra creamy finish, bring on the grilled scallops, cracked crab and grilled lobster tail! This is ready to be enjoyed now though you can hold for another 1-2 years.

This bottling has been variable over the decades, but this 2010 shows fine form, a good sign coming on the heels of the excellent 2009. It's richly oaked and flashy in pineapple jam, buttered toast and creamy, yeasty flavors. - S.H.
