91 points,

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, August 2012

Girardin's 2010 Montrachet, from the Chassagne side, saturates the palate with juicy peaches, nectarines, butter, flowers and spices, all of which come together nicely in the glass. This is a decidedly rich, intense style of Montrachet. Here, too, the fruit dominates over structural elements. Overall, the 2010 Montrachet is a big, dramatic, at times burly wine that doesn't appear to be meaningfully more complex than many of the premier crus. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. -Antonio Galloni

94 points,

Stephen Tanzer's IWC, September 2012

Pale bright yellow. Pure but reticent aromas of apricot, peach pit and iodine. Dry and extremely unforthcoming, revealing more nutty oak than primary fruit. Extremely dense but not at all heavy. Shows a powerful saline character to its apple and peach pit flavors. All in reserve today. As tactile as a solid on the mouthcoating, rather tannic back end. 94+

About Winery

Vincent Girardin was born in Santenay, in the Côte de Beaune and is part of a winemaking family whose origins date to the 17th century (11th generation). Now in his forties, Vincent began in 1982 with only 2 hectares (5 acres) of vines. When his father retired, Vincent took over several additional hectares to which he could devote himself.

Vincent Girardin is a man of conviction. He knows what he wants. He has grasped his profession firmly with both hands. Vincent's roots are deep in the most prestigious terroirs of Burgundy. He knows every vine, every parcel of land. He also ensures that the very highest quality is maintained by following each wine's development every step of the way, at all times respecting the most important element of Burgundy - the individuality of its terroirs.
