Smoke, slate, ripe stone peaches and butter burst from the glass as this vivid, kaleidoscopic wine shows off its pedigree. In 2010, the Pucelles is simply explosive. Ideally, it needs a few years to settle down, but it is hugely impressive, even today. The endless finish leaves a lasting impression. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. 94+

Elegant and seamless in the middle, then quite gripping on the rising back end, with a hint of tannins that stimulate the salivary glands.
