Solid and structure with mineral and blueberry character. Long and silky. Intense and balanced. Confession of high quality here.

71% merlot and 29% cabernet franc. From talented Jean Philipe Janoueix. Average age of vines is 42 years and yields were 34 hls/ha. Harvested between Oct. 1st and 19th; fruit twice sorted and moved by gravity flow to small 70 hl, open-top oak fermenters. 14.7% alcohol. The bouquet offers plum, cassis, blackberry and boysenberry mixed with roasted herb and pain grillé. Powerful yet elegant, the palate provides fine-grained acidity and wonderfully structured tannins, while the mid palate is filled with flavors of roasted coffee and blueberry. The fine finish will leave you wanting more. This wine is extremely expressive, maybe even better than the 2009! Jean-Philippe Fort consults.

An absolutely stunning wine from the Janoueix family, this dense, full-bodied, wonderfully floral and blueberry/blackberry-scented wine shows some toasty vanillin, but then hits the palate with a full-bodied thunder and cascade of glycerin and fruit in its luscious personality. Captivating and seductive, thick, juicy, full-bodied and pure, this is a beautiful St.-Emilion fruit bomb to drink over the next 10-15 years.

Very ripe and flattering, with loads of linzer torte, cassis and crushed cherry fruit, but well-supported by notes of cocoa, graphite and toasty spice. The finish is long and grippy. Very solid. -J.M.
