The Garys' Vineyard Syrah is sourced from a small section of Syrah grapes at the Garys' Vineyard. The wine is an outstanding example of the potential of cool-climate Syrah. Always deep and very purple in color, the wines are full of wonderful flavors and nuances of white pepper, leather and floral notes.

The 2010 Syrah Garys' emerges from the glass with black pepper, violets, tar, licorice, spices and black olives. The use of 50% whole clusters adds an element of aromatic lift that is quite pretty. Like so many 2010 Syrahs from the appellation, the Garys' is a bit on the medium-bodied side of things, but the wine's overall sense of balance and proportion is its strongest suit. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. - Antonio Galloni

Opaque purple. A compelling bouquet displays black and blue fruits, olive and pungent Indian spices. Shows classic smoky, spicy syrah character, with appealing sweetness and intensity to its cassis, cherry compote and licorice pastille flavors. The persistent, gently tannic finish repeats the smoky note and shows very good clarity.

Lucia Wines are hand-crafted by the Pisoni Family.  These wines represent a commitment to producing small lots of exceptional wines from their cool-climate growing region.  Working only with vineyards they farm, Gary, Mark and Jeff Pisoni produce Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and a Rose of Pinot Noir.  The goal is for each wine to represent the vineyard and vintage, while at the same time displaying a sense of balance, intensity of flavor and ageability.
