The Susan's Hill Syrah, named for Gary's sister Susan, resides on one of the highest elevation points of Pisoni Vineyards. The top of Susan's Hill is exposed to the elements and receives a great deal of wind. The coarse, rocky soils ensure that the vines are extremely stressed. This combination of environmental factors produces some of the most intense Syrah in California.

Vivid purple. Pungent aromas of blueberry, Indian spices and dark chocolate, lifted by violet and cracked pepper. Bright acidity gives lift and definition to densely packed flavors of dark berries and candied flowers. This youthful, energetic syrah offers noteworthy precision and lift. Finishes with very good clarity and cut, leaving a smoky note behind.

Lucia Wines are hand-crafted by the Pisoni Family.  These wines represent a commitment to producing small lots of exceptional wines from their cool-climate growing region.  Working only with vineyards they farm, Gary, Mark and Jeff Pisoni produce Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and a Rose of Pinot Noir.  The goal is for each wine to represent the vineyard and vintage, while at the same time displaying a sense of balance, intensity of flavor and ageability.
