2010 Thieuley Reserve Francis Courselle Merlot
Merlot: 750ml

Neil Mechanic, JJ Buckley, April 2011
Muted nose in its youth, however wet stone, mineral and a soy edge do reveal themselves. The mouth is much more generous with bright cassis and mélange of clove and cardamom spice. The mid-palate is expansive while the finish is quite angular, bone-dry with firm tannins, as well as bold and everlasting. Drink 2015 to 2020.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2011
Ratcheting up the level of concentration, this sleeper of the vintage offers plenty of deep red and black currant fruit notes intermixed with cedarwood, subtle smoke and herbs. Medium-bodied and richly fruity with more power than the regular cuvee, it should drink well for 4-5 years.

Plush and nicely toasty, with an alluring espresso note backed by ample dark plum and black currant fruit. There's a velvety feel through the finish, with fine charcoal stitching to keep it grounded. Drink now through 2015. –JM
