James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, February 2013

A ripe and juicy wine with dried strawberry and hints of earth. Full body, with velvety tannins. Delicious finish. Sweet fruit at the end. Drink or hold.

Neal Martin's Wine Journal, November 2012

Tasted at the Union de Grand Cru in London. The Villemaurine 2010 has a tightly wound, truffle tinged bouquet that shows a little more harmony and crispness than recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, very fine tannins. The oak is well integrated and the finish caressing. This is a real surprise - a pleasant one considering the poor run of form in the past. This is one to look out for.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, March 2013

The wine is tannic, rich and full-bodied, with impressive purity, loads of black raspberry, black currant, graphite and smoky barbecue notes intermixed with some toasty oak and forest floor. Rich and impressive, but needing cellar time, this wine begs for 4-5 years of bottle age and should drink well for 25-30 years. 91+

This delivers very forward plum and blueberry flavors, with a gentle kiss of toasty vanilla on the finish. A whiff of black tea flitters through. Drink now through 2019. -JM
