100% merlot from a tiny 2.5 hectare vineyard. Production is a mere 300 cases. Deep purple red. Blackberries, motor oil, licorice, and spice box mix with red fruits and fresh earth aromas on the nose. The flamboyant palate has lively acidity, medium tannins, and flavors of earthy black truffle and anise. A real beauty. This will benefit from aging for 5-7 years after bottling, and drink well into 2030+.

Always among the sexiest, most opulent and flamboyant wines of the vintage, Croix de Labrie's 2011 offers stunningly ripe Merlot fruit in its luxurious, easily understood, irresistible personality. Lots of ripe fruit as well as a disarming style make for a wine to drink during its first decade of life. It's a winner!

100% merlot: Opaque purple-ruby. Aromas of spicy plum liqueur, coffee and minerals are complicated by a touch of aromatic herbs. Clean and fresh in the mouth, with bright black fruit flavors enlivened by minerality. Finishes long, with crushed stone and a lingering mocha element.
