Note: from a .52 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines. This is also exceptionally fresh with ripe and spicy dark berry fruit that displays whispers of truffle, stone and underbrush. The stony character is front and center on the textured and relatively precise middle weight flavors that are supported by phenolically ripe tannins that are more refined than those of the Mazis before terminating in a balanced and mildly austere finish that delivers outstanding length. Like the Mazis, this offers both excellent quality and value in an ageworthy package. - Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding ♥

Bright deep red. Ripe, smoky, nuanced aromas of musky raspberry, licorice, mint and game. Rich, silky and sweet, with nicely integrated acidity giving shape to the broad middle palate. No excess weight here but sweeter and richer than the Mazis. Deep, fine-grained tannins dust the tongue on the vibrant, long back end. This fruit was picked at 13.1% potential alcohol and chaptalized to 13.5%. 93+
