A vibrant day-bright golden hue is supported by a plush bouquet of citrus rind, crushed rocks and a touch of acacia. The palate is extremely viscous and mouth-coating, conveying one of the most full-bodied experiences that you'll come across from this noble varietal. Lemon confit and stone fruit takes center stage with a back drop of hazelnut and butter cream. The texture on the finish is consistent with the mid-palate, full and lengthy with a 2-3 minute finish. For those who crave an ultra-creamy expression in their white wine, then this has you're name on it. Santa Rita Hills, California meets 1er Cru Meursault. A new release, I recommend laying this down for another 4-6 months before opening, though it can cellar for up to 6 years. As with any full-bodied effort, aerate for an hour before serving and don't serve too chilled.

The 2011 Chardonnay sees 8 months in oak, roughly an equal combination of new, second and third fill. It is well defined and understated on the nose, unfurling to reveal fresh lime, red apple and a touch of crisp pear that is very well defined. The palate is effervescent on the entry with a fine thread of acidity that counterbalanced the ripe mango, Clementine and apricot notes that decorate the finish. It has such brightness and clarity on the finish that makes this irresistible. Drink now-2020. -Neal Martin
