A deft touch of wood frames an intensely earthy, complex and notably ripe nose that features notes of spice, plum and black currant. There is excellent richness, size, weight and muscle to the vibrant middle weight plus flavors that exude a fine extract on the mineral-driven finish that offers extraordinarily good length. This is primary to the point of being quite backward yet it is not hard or aggressive as the balance of structural elements is impeccable. - Comments: Don't miss!

Meaty and relatively tough. But good! Lots of spicy fruit and more of a framework than Clos St-Denis. 18/20

Good medium red. Briary, smoky dark raspberry, minerals and flowers on the nose, plus a whiff of horseradish. Rich, dry and suave but youthfully closed, with pepper and spice notes running through to the firm aftertaste. This will be sweetened and opened up by a racking, but Seysses only planned to do this prior to the bottling. He admits that it's currently "angry"; it's certainly tricky to taste today.

In 1967, Jacques Seysses seized the opportunity to purchase the Domaine
Graillet and renamed it Domaine Dujac. The Domaine Dujac wines did not
go unnoticed long. In 1974, they were discovered by Gault & Millau.
Thanks to favorable press and his father's connections in the world of
gastronomy, Dujac wines were soon to be found in prestigious restaurants
throughout France.
