Good Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot has lusty, well-ripened fruit as its calling card, and, when balanced and filled out with a bit rich oak as is the case here, the best are both deep and very generous expressions of the grape. Loring hits all the right marks with this one, and, while the wine is very deep and wonderfully rich, it is never too much. It is fleshy and firm and fairly ample in weight, and its solid structure ensures that it will get better with age, and overall, this is a very deep and satisfying wine worth pursuing.

Layered and focused throughout, the Rosella's flows with dark red fruit, flowers, mint and licorice in a fairly pointed style for Loring. Bright floral notes reappear on the finish.
