Grapes for this wine are sourced from different vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands.  Sourcing from diverse locations within the appellation adds to the wines flavor profile.  In the winery the grapes undergo a long cold soak for maximum flavor extraction and a subsequent fermentation by native yeast.  The wine is aged for eleven months in French oak barrels before being bottled, without fining or filtration.  A very low percentage of new oak barrels are used in order to maintain the bright vineyard flavors.

Lovely violet core with a medium ruby red rim. Intensely fruit driven with abounding aromas of ripe black cherry, boysenberry, and red licorice, with a hint of cherry cola and vanilla. Lush and fruit driven on the palate as well, while still showing some restraint and acidity towards the long finish, which is again full of dark red fruit and subtle anise. Excellent wine and within its price range, it can't be beat.

Luli Wines came about from a very special partnership between Sara Floyd and the Pisoni Family.  Sara is a Master Sommelier from the San Francisco Bay Area with many years of experience in the restaurant and wine business.  The Pisoni Family is from Monterey County, where they farm their eponymous vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands.

Together, they want to make wonderful and enjoyable wines that are meant to be consumed on many occasions.   The Santa Lucia Highlands is one of the best regions in California to grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir: Two varieties that are very complex, approachable and pair well with many foods.
