The NV Brut Rose Code Noir is one of the most unique roses readers will come across. A rich, deep color provides the first hint of what is to follow. This is an exuberant, powerful wine endowed with gorgeous depth in its rich, varietal fruit and vinous, full-bodied personality. All of the elements come together with unusual grace, leading to an enveloping finish that stains the palate with fruit. The Code Noir is not for the timid, but is a wine very well suited to all but the heartiest of foods. This is Lot C3J46E50, disgorged April 30, 2010.

Named in celebration of the French scientists who are decoding the DNA of pinot noir, this is 100% pinot from Grand Cru slopes of Ay. Bright copper color throughout. Expressive aromas of melon, raspberry and a touch of Christmas spice. Certainly a bold Champagne, a fine mousse surrounds ripe red raspberry, strawberry coulis and orange rind, all backed by mouthwatering acidity. It is not a shy wine, but immensely satisfying nonetheless.
