Reviews of 2003 Jadot, Louis Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru Pinot Noir
95 points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate January 2005 Profound aromas of chocolate, blackberries, black cherries, and spices are found in the nose of the 2003 Chambertin-Clos de Beze (from a 45-55-year old parcel). A huge, exceptionally deep wine, its potent core of black cherry fruit is highly expressive and massively concentrated. Well-balanced, it reveals immense complexity, staying power, and an exceptionally long finish studded with copious quantities of ripe tannin. Projected maturity: 2012-2022.
Note: Three wines that were tasted as barrel samples in November, 2004 were re-tasted from bottle in June, 2005. The 2003 Puligny-Montrachet (rated 87 points) is medium-bodied, expressive and plush, yet focused; the 2003 Pernand-Vergelesses Croix de Pierre (88) sports a wonderful nose of flowers and red cherries as well as a deep medium-bodied character filled with stony dark fruits; and the outstanding 2003 Pommard Rugiens (92) is medium to full-bodied, dense, structured, intense, and crammed with dark fruits.

94 points, Wine Spectator February 2006 A powerful, slightly burly style, with plenty of black cherry and vanilla aromas and flavors. It needs time to integrate all its elements, yet the structure is vibrant and the tannins are ripe and well-integrated. Best from 2010 through 2030. 130 cases imported. –BS

admiration from connoisseurs around the world and Maison Louis Jadot
continues to produce some of the most elegant Burgundian wines that now
enjoy global recognition and esteem.
About the Wine
"Wines from Gevrey -Chambertin are highly coloured and with intense aromatic expression evocative of blackcurrant berries and other small red and black fruit, there are animal notes such as musk and fur, one can often pick out an aroma of liquorice in mature wine. They are powerful wines, associating abundant mellowness with tannin and a good level of acidity. In general these wines are quite "square"."
