Not surprisingly this is markedly more youthful than the same wine in 750 ml format but as it should it shares many of the same characteristics that include the brioche, baked apple and prominent yeast elements, but the marmalade character is at this point only a whisper. There is also a better sense of vibrancy to the wonderfully complex flavors where the supporting mousse remains firm and fine, all wrapped in an utterly delicious and, again like the 750 ml version, saliva-inducing finale. While I don’t believe there is any reason to continue to cellar this beauty in terms of potential development, neither is there any need to drink up sooner than later. Lovely juice that should continue to hold well in magnum format. now+
