The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (a 7500-case cuvee of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is terrific. Wonderful floral notes intermixed with blueberries black currants and hints of licorice and spice box are reminiscent of some of the great Villa Mt. Eden Cabernets produced here in the mid-1970s. Deep purple in color full-bodied with sumptuous texture and a long concentrated finish displaying beautifully integrated acidity and tannin this blockbuster effort should age graciously for 12-15 or more years. Intense firmly tannic and richly concentrated. The flavors are built around vibrant currant plum and floral notes with cedar nutmeg chocolate and exotic spices filling in on the finish. The tannins are ripe and sturdy. Best from 2007 through 2013. 7000 cases made. (JL)
