I believe that the 2005 DP is the best since 2002, which remains the best recent vintage and is probably only eclipsed by the amazing 100-point 1996. The 2005 is a full-bodied DP with so much richness and loads of ripe...

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy, April 2023

2005 was a warm, ripe vintage that was only spoiled just before harvest by heavy rain showers (which promoted the spread of Botrytis, mainly in the Pinots). The winemaking team at Dom Perignon decided to embrace rather...

Wine Enthusiast, December 2015

With some age, this is a gloriously ripe and toasty wine. It has a rich character emphasized by the round texture and the creamy mousse. It also has great concentration, bringing together acidity as well as dense...

Wine Spectator, November 2015

A rich version in an elegant, finely knit frame, with a streak of smoky minerality underscoring the flavors of clover honey, patisserie apple, blackberry and biscuit. Creamy in texture and persistent, with a long...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2016

93+ The 2005 Dom Pérignon has a brilliant white-golden color and is intense on the yeasty nose, where vegetal aromas along with almond and rather discreet fruit flavors are displayed, before they intensify and become more...

Since 1743 when it was founded, Moet & Chandon has been passing down unequaled winemaking savoir-faire and an innovative and pioneering spirit from generation to generation. Founder Claude Moet was the first to embody these values when he made his Champagne the most sought-after in Europe. With his grandson, Jean Remy Moët, a pioneering and visionary mind, Moet & Chandon became a major international champagne brand. This saga quickly transformed the family House into a worldwide symbol of success.

The 1,190 hectares of rich limestone soil, 50% of which is classed as Grand Cru and 25% Premier Cru, make up the largest vineyard area in Champagne. Underground, the Moet & Chandon cellars are the most extensive in the region. Extending more than 28 kilometers, they form a subterranean labyrinth where the wine metamorphoses under optimum conditions of humidity and temperature.

Moet & Chandon is part of the luxury brands group LVMH, whose other prestigious wine holdings include Chateau d’Yquem, Cheval Blanc, Cloudy Bay, Krug, and Newton Vineyard, to name a few.

Possibly the world’s most recognized and iconic Champagne, Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon is always a vintage-dated wine comprised of the classic varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Elegant and graceful with excellent aging potential, it is produced only in those harvest years that the Chef de Cave declares to be of exceptional quality.

Dom. Pierre Perignon, revered as the spiritual “Father of Champagne”, was a 17th century Benedictine Monk and cellar master at Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers. He had a singular mission: to create the best wine in the world. To that mission, he dedicated 47 years of his life to invent and perfect the techniques to create a wine whose reputation knows no equal. His life-long work acquired a reputation for excellence which spread rapidly throughout the region, including the favor of the Royal Court during the reign of King Louis XIV.

Today, Richard Geoffroy, Chef de Cave and Creator of Dom Perignon Vintages, perpetuates the spirit of Dom. Pierre Perignon. The wine is produced by Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the largest luxury brand group in the world.

Introducing the 2005 Moet Chandon Dom Perignon, a Champagne Blend that hails from the prestigious Champagne region of France. This white wine exudes elegance and finesse, making it a true gem in the world of sparkling wines.

With a pale golden hue that shimmers in the glass, this Dom Perignon immediately captivates the eye. The cork closure adds a touch of tradition and signifies the exceptional craftsmanship that went into creating this masterpiece.

Upon the first sip, one is enveloped in a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate. The wine opens with a delicate yet pronounced bouquet of clover honey, patisserie apple, blackberry, and biscuit. These flavors intertwine seamlessly, creating a rich and captivating experience.

The texture of this wine is creamy and luxurious, coating the mouth with its velvety embrace. It is in this texture that the true mastery of the winemaker shines through. The persistence of the flavors lingers on the palate, leaving a lasting impression that is both satisfying and memorable.

Renowned wine critics have showered the 2005 Moet Chandon Dom Perignon with accolades. The Wine Spectator awarded it a score of 94, praising its rich version and elegant, finely knit frame. Wine Enthusiast gave it an impressive score of 95, highlighting its gloriously ripe and toasty character. James Suckling, one of the most respected voices in the wine industry, bestowed a remarkable score of 97 upon this vintage, declaring it the best since 2002. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate also recognized its excellence, giving it a score of 93+ and praising its complex and well-concentrated nature.

This 2005 Dom Perignon is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but also has the potential to age gracefully until 2030. It is a wine that demands attention and rewards the discerning palate. Whether savored on its own or paired with a gourmet meal, this Dom Perignon is a true delight for the senses.
