Parce's 2005 Collioure Clos du Moulin offers archetypal Mourvedre scents of beef blood and lay leaf with humus like suggestions of "clean" earthiness. On the palate this offers a striking combination of low-toned predominantly carnal flavors with juicy freshness polished texture and a surprising sense of lightness. Finishing brightly with a tang of the sea and a tart note of fruit skin what this lacks compared with the best of Mas Blanc's Collioure bottlings is a bit more complexity and sheer concentration. It should probably best be enjoyed over the coming 2-3 years.
