Elegant and firmly structured this white offers lemon lime and clove oil flavors with hints of apple and peach in the background. Rich and ample midpalate before turning refreshing on the finish. Drink now through 2018. 40 cases imported. -BS

Morey's 2007 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot offers a fat and fullness in contrast with its predecessors in this collection showing a bit of vanilla and spice from its time in barrel but also pronounced chalkiness complimenting ripe peach and marzipan. This lacks the refinement and understatement that characterize most of Thomas Morey's inaugural vintage but an attractive and intriguing underlying sense of veal stock helps to pull it together and it finishes with low-toned richness. Off hand I would expect it to be best drunk within the next half dozen years but of course there is no track record in this cellar on which to base such an estimation. -David Schildknecht Following the division of Bernard Morey's domaine between his two sons Thomas Morey has set up facilities opposite his home in Chassagne and will supplement his 8.5 hectare acreage with contracts. A report on the inaugural vintage of his brother Vincent is also included in this report. There is an attractive tasting room but Morey describes the cellar as just big enough provided he racks the young wines out of the barrel and assembles them in tank before the next vintage is harvested.
