James Halliday, July 2009

A fragrant and vibrant wine with pronounced cool climate characteristics; spicy savoury nuances encircle the core of red cherry and plum fruit; very good handling of tannin and oak. Open-fermented 20% whole bunches.

MW Bob Campbell, January 2012

Dense spicy and very classy Shiraz with bright and quite complex berry and floral flavours giving it a Rhone-like character. Still very youthful and with masses of potential.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2010

Turning to the reds from 100% estate grown fruit and matured in French oak (36% new) for 18 months the 2007 Art Series Shiraz has a deep garnet purple color and complex earthy peppery varietal aromas over cassis...

Wine Spectator, July 2010

Bright and jazzy a lively mouthful of red berry beet and spice aromas and flavors that remain zippy through the polished finish. Drink now through 2014. 200 cases imported. -HS

Leeuwin Estate is a family-owned Australian winery and one of the five founding wineries in the now famous Margaret River district of Western Australia. Formerly a cattle ranch, the property was converted to vineyards by Denis and Tricia Horgan upon the advice of legendary Napa Valley winemaker Robert Mondavi when he visited Australia and saw the estate’s potential as being ideal for the production of premium wines.

The estate enjoyed its first commercial vintage in 1979 and was quickly thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1980 "Art Series" Chardonnay. Leeuwin now exports to 30 markets. The estate releases wines under the Art Series, Prelude Vineyards and Siblings labels.

Celebrating the combination of fine wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin features an award winning restaurant, cellar door and art gallery. The estate is renowned for staging spectacular events and welcoming visitors from around the world.
