Supple fat and concentrated if a bit youthfully undifferentiated today. In a broad dry style finishing with lingering notes of truffle and earth. Small grapes in this parcel yielded just 32 hectoliters per hectare in 2009 according to Boillot.

The 2009 Beaune Les Epenots is a dark inward wine loaded with dark fruit asphalt and licorice. It possesses notable density that builds towards the powerful finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2024.

Lively and captivating on the nose, with aromas of fresh red berries the meld with licorice, ginger and violets along with a touch of fresh leather. Red fruit dominates the palate at this young stage, however there are hints of white pepper, truffle and earth. This is a lush Burgundy, with silky tannins, highlighting the features of the 2009 vintage. Just starting to really hit its stride, this will be at its best from 2015 – 2022.
