jamessuckling.com, November 2013

Gorgeous nose with strawberries, toasted hazelnuts and milk chocolate. Black currant, sweet licorice and lots of flowers. Great fruit and full body on the palate with a structure that just keeps adding layers of fruit and...

Wine Spectator, March 2013

Dark and loamy, with fig bread and ganache out front, followed by steeped fig, pastis-soaked plum and Black Forest cake notes, all layered and backed by a long, licorice and graphite-filled finish. Offers more than enough...

Neal Martin's Wine Journal, April 2011

Tasted at JP Moueix the Latour-à-Pomerol is a little taciturn at first but rewards those with time to let the sample breath. Blackberry leaf wild strawberry black truffle and a touch of cedar emerge all with superb...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, February 2013

Elegant loamy soil notes intermixed with sweet cherries as well as hints of underbrush, mocha and mulberry jump from the glass of this pure, medium to full-bodied, dense wine, which possesses good glycerin, flesh and...

Wine Enthusiast, May 2013

Solidly based on its firm tannins, this is an impressive wine. Acidity and blackberry fruits are sewn together by the tannic structure. There is a touch of minerality as well, lending the wine to the promise of long-term...

Chateau Latour a Pomerol is one of the leading Bordeaux wine producers from the Pomerol appellation. Since 1962, Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix has farmed the property, bringing their usual care and expertise to both vineyard and cellar.

The vineyard, with an average age of 35 years, is characterized by its soil diversity. There is loamy soil around the chateau itself with more gravel and clay in the best blocks near the church within the village of Pomerol. The estate has 8 hectares planted, predominantly Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc.

Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix, who own many other properties in both Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, including Magdelaine, Belair-Monange, La Fleur-Petrus, Lafleur-Gazin, Lagrange, Trotanoy, and Hosanna.

Between elegance, power and smoothness, the wines of Chateau Latour a Pomerol show a perfect balance.
