The 2010 Barolo Via Nuova is the name of a cru that no longer exists. “Via Nuova” is now a registered fantasy name that represents a blend of fruit from six vineyard parcels. It shows great balance because it represents the entire Barolo territory and reflects the old Barolo blending tradition. You get the floral perfumes from Barolo, the bright fruit characteristics of Monforte d’Alba and bold structure of Serralunga d’Alba. Drink: 2015-2025. - Monica Larner

Aromatic and floral with ripe strawberry and raspberry character. Full body with fine tannins and a tangy, ripe-fruit character. Hints of cedar, caramel and chocolate on the finish. Give this two years to come together: better in 2017.

Aromas of toast, subtle oak, rich black fruit, dried roses, clove and white pepper lead the nose on this structured but polished wine. The succulent palate doles out ripe wild cherry accented with licorice, black pepper, and red-hot cinnamon. It’s balanced with firm, bracing tannins and freshness.
