One of St.-Emilion’s most hedonistically and lavishly endowed/ extravagant wines is a big-time winner. Unfortunately, the production from proprietor Axelle Courdurie is minuscule. The 2011 exhibits exotic black cherry and black raspberry fruit intermixed with spice aromas that resemble a Northern Rhone such as Cote Rotie. The complexity of the aromatics at this stage was surprising. Medium to full-bodied with luscious fruit and a silky, suave, savory finish, it will provide delicious drinking over the next 7-8 years. - Robert Parker
