Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère 2011 from Henri Boillot is an absolute peach. It has a very composed and assured bouquet with fine definition and poise – touches of sous-bois infusing the slate and granite aromas that open wonderfully in the glass. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry, with hints of dried apricot and fresh pear in the background. It remains reserved but complex with a long and penetrating finish. This is a classy Puligny premier cru. - Neal Martin
