A dense, wood-aged wine, it brings richness, intense fruit and acidity together. It’s complex and concentrated, powerfully structured and full of yellow fruits as well as lemon juice, edged with toast. It’s a wine for...

Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting. The 2012 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc has a very attractive bouquet, armed with expressive Sauvignon Blanc scents: gooseberry, greengage and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is...

A gorgeous white with white truffles, sliced apples and hints of fennel character. Full body, bright acidity and a clean and chalky, stony finish. Excellent.

Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere of Pessac-Leognan is one of only six Bordeaux chateaux that have both red and white classified wines.

Originally Domaine de Lagraviere, the estate was purchased at the end of the 18th century by the family of Count Hippolyte de Maures de Malartic, an admiral who served in the French Navy. The estate was then bought in 1850 by Madame Arnaud Ricard, who added the name Malartic to that of Lagraviere as a tribute to the former owners.

Located on the oldest wine-producing terroir in Bordeaux, Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere’s vineyard is on a high terrace of 8-meter-deep gravelly soil over limestone and clay. It covers 53 hectares planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

in 1998, the winery became one of the first to adopt a fully gravity-driven grape transport system. After manual harvests and double sorting on vibrating tables, grapes are transported to the vats and then to the barrels only by gravity. The vat room is also highly innovative. Its octagonal layout houses 20 stainless steel vats and 10 wooden ones, all conical and temperature-controlled. Being small, each one can accommodate the fruit from specific plots for individual vinification.

After blending, the wine is left to age in a 1200-barrel capacity air-conditioned cellar with controlled humidity levels. 25 to 35% of the barrels are replaced every year with new ones from the best coopers.

The 2012 Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc is a Bordeaux Blanc wine that hails from the prestigious Bordeaux region in France. Crafted by the renowned producer Malartic-Lagraviere, this white wine is a true representation of the elegance and complexity that Bordeaux wines are known for.

In the glass, this wine presents a beautiful golden hue, enticing the senses with its radiant appearance. On the nose, it immediately captivates with a dense and aromatic bouquet. Expressive scents of gooseberry, greengage, and a touch of honeysuckle fill the air, revealing the presence of the Sauvignon Blanc varietal.

Upon the first sip, the 2012 Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc reveals its true character. This wine is a harmonious blend of richness, intense fruit, and acidity. It showcases a complexity that is both alluring and captivating. The palate is greeted with an array of yellow fruits and a burst of refreshing lemon juice, beautifully balanced with a subtle edge of toast. The wine's powerfully structured framework and concentration make it a perfect candidate for aging, further enhancing its already remarkable qualities.

Renowned wine critics have praised this wine, further solidifying its exceptional reputation.
