JJ Buckley Tasting Overview of the 2012 Vintage in Burgundy – A Look at a Wondrous Vintage

by JJ Buckley Fine Wines

JJ Buckley Fine Wines, the premier fine wine retailer in the United States, has just released their tasting overview of the 2012 vintage in Burgundy following the biannual Grand Jours de Bourgogne trade event. The report provides tasting notes for the top wines from Burgundy's best villages along with an overview of the vintage.

JJ Buckley sent Jeff Loo,one of the company’s most passionate and knowledgeable sales representatives when it comes to the Burgundy region, to sample its latest releases. Over the course of a week, the Grand Jours tastings make it possible to experience thousands of wines from Chablis in the north down to the Maconnais in the south. Jeff focused on the famed villages of the Cote d'Or with an emphasis on the 2012 vintage, a year that the Wine Advocate's Neil Martin characterized as"great vintage."

Burgundy is a region in transition buffeted by changes thanks to the increasing popularity of their wines across the globe. This report also includes an insightful article by Chuck Hayward, JJ Buckley's lead writer, on how Burgundy and its wines will fare in the 21st century. This essay is must reading for those who care about the region.

Burgundy has been one of JJ Buckley’s most important wine categories since the company was founded. In addition to their attendance at the Grand Jours de Bourgogne tastings, the wine buyers and sales staff participate in educational tastings and seminars, all in the effort to obtain the best wines from the region for their clients.

The report can be downloaded from the wine reports section of JJ Buckley's website.
