2006 Casanova di Neri 'Pietradonice'
by JJ Buckley Fine Wines
On Sale $59.94 (reg. $89.94)
Recognized the world over for crafting exquisite Brunello (most notably, multiple 100 point efforts Tenuta Nuova and Cerretalto), Casanova di Neri is no slouch either when it comes to Cabernet. In fact, the 'Pietradonice' "has become one of the region's most promising Cabernet-based wines," according to noted Italian wine critic Antonio Galloni.
Tuscany enjoyed phenomenal conditions across the board in 2006, with Galloni noting that the vintage has been "consistently stunning...offers incredible quality from top to bottom."
Italian wine fans jump at any opportunity to lock in the tremendous Brunelli from Casanova di Neri and it should be no different for their Cabernet driven 'Pietradonice', especially when it's available at the best price around. Cheers!
