"Without question: the 2009 is the best Sigalas-Rabaud that I have tasted and this nectar comes highly recommended." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Schramsberg is a Napa legend, and one of the finest domestic producers of sparkling wine. They've elevated the genre in California for over 50 years, proving that the best doesn’t have to come from Champagne. This 2006 ‘J Schram’ Cuvee is a beautiful aged vintage example and we have it today for the lowest price in the country. It represents a stunning value when compared to top vintage Champagne.
The long, costly process that is the méthode traditionnelle takes plenty of skill and experience to do right, and Schramsberg has five decades of both. Served at state dinners from the 1970’s and onwards, Schramsberg is the American answer to Champagne and has inspired many here in California. The ‘J Schram’ cuvee is a barrel select wine that is primarily Chardonnay. The best lots are assembled in quality vintages like 2006, and form less than 3% of their total production! This is truly the flagship vintage cuvee of the house.
At over a decade old, the 2006 J Schram is bursting with “attractively smoky, toasty and perfectly mature fruit aromas” (WE 95pts), and would make a glorious appearance at any special event, as a fine gift, or even secreted away to enjoy with a loved one on a special occasion. With aromas of toasted brioche, baked apple and almonds you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a vintage Champagne at 2-3 times the price! Our stock is extremely limited, so contact us today and stock your cellar up with this indispensable Napa icon.
