"Einaudi has been one of the great recent success stories in Piemonte over the last few years...Einaudi's Baroli have never been better." - Antonio Galloni
For those that crave inspiring, multi-dimensional, and ageable wines, Barolo does it like few other regions. And Einaudi does it like few others, hitting the perfect sweet spot as a producer that "successfully combines elements of modern and traditional approaches," according to Galloni. Tis WA94+ "beautifully crafted" Barolo is will delight fans of these singular wines, as will our terrific sale price!
The 'Costa Grimaldi' bottling originates from a vineyard planted in 1962, where only the top 20% of the crop makes the cut for this exclusive wine. Well under 1000 cases are produced and in 2009 Galloni says, "this beautifully balanced, focused Barolo is without question one of the highlights of the vintage."
We recently tasted the 2009 'Costa Grimaldi' and it shows excellent depth while deftly straddling the line between power and elegance. Though the overall warmth of the vintage will lend this a bit of early appeal, there's no doubt that there's some solid aging potential and this should easily hold strong for 15+ years.
We have just a few cases in stock, so act fast to add a fantastic, small-production, high-quality Barolo to your cellar while it lasts. Cheers!
