"Monteverro is one of the most exciting young properties I have come across in a while." - Antonio Galloni
The stunning 2010 vintage in Tuscany allowed nearly everyone to make their dream wine, and for Monteverro, Tuscany’s most exciting new estate, that wine was a delicious Bordeaux blend that will appeal to lovers of Napa and Tuscany alike!
Monteverro’s success in just their third vintage was thanks to the union of phenomenal undiscovered Tuscan terroir and superstar winemaker Michel Rolland. Since this estate is still under the radar we were able to secure this for you at over 40% off the regular price, so die-hard fans of Bordeaux blends will want to jump on this one!
With numerous 90+-point scores to his name, Rolland has worked with world-class estates like Ornellaia and Angelus (and Harlan, and Bryant Family, the list goes on). Monteverro is one of the most exciting entrants in Tuscany of late thanks to Swiss wine connoisseur Georg Weber putting the kind of investment into this sleepy Tuscan town of Capalbio that you would expect to see only in Napa Valley. The Wine Advocate praised both the “level of moxie so high it touches peaks of brilliance and insanity” and the “excellent results” it yielded.
The ‘Terra di Monteverro’ is the second wine of the estate, and like their grand vin is about 40/40% Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, with Merlot and Petit Verdot rounding it out. Twenty months in French oak give the wine its rich but balanced frame, with complex aromas of ripe red currants, herbs, and earth. Try this beauty from a future Tuscan legend today! Cheers!
