2010 Nikolaihof Riesling Steiner Hund
by JJ Buckley Fine Wines
On Sale $39.94 (reg. $65.94)
The 2010 Nikolaihof Steiner Hund is the sort of mineral laden, sea-foam soaked kind of Riesling that has made dry examples of the grape so famous around the world. While Alsace and the Mosel tend to get more than their share of press for dry Riesling, Austria can boast two thousand years worth of viticultural history, and the Steiner Hund vineyard has seen all of it. Evidence of continuous viticulture exists on the property going back to the Roman era, and today Nikolaihof’s white wines are ranked as the best in Austria by Vinous.
Riesling transmits terroir unlike any other grape, and Nikolaihof farms this unique slice of Austrian terroir biodynamically with extraordinary results. With a complex and shifting profile that is unlike any other varietal wine in the world, it is also quite distinct from other Rieslings grown elsewhere.
With less than 300 cases made, there's precious little of this to go around. At almost 40% off of our regular price this is a can’t miss opportunity to grab an allocation before it evaporates. It will continue to provide an indescribable array of vibrant aromatics and electric flavors for many, many years to come. Cheers!
