"...Fuligni remains among the top estates in Montalcino." - Antonio Galloni
The 2011 Fuligni Brunello has all the lift and freshness we expect from a great Brunello, in an approachable frame that is just begging to be enjoyed today. What’s more we have it at the lowest price in the country, making this 2011 Fuligni practically a weeknight Brunello for any occasion!
Sandwiched between 2010 and 2012, a couple of blockbuster vintages ‘for the cellar', consumers should not sleep on the 2011s, especially from a noted producer like Fuligni. The vintage produced incredibly tasty, accessible, yet still classic Brunelli, with Galloni writing that the “best 2011 Brunellos are racy, open-knit and seductive” and Suckling suggesting that "everyone is going to like drinking 2011 Brunello di Montalcinos."
Fuligni has been around long enough in Montalcino to understand just how remarkable the terroir can be. The family has been in Tuscany since the 1700s, and making wine in Montalcino for over a hundred years now, a rarity for a region that only really burst on the scene after World War II. Today Fuligni is “among the top estates in Montalcino...[Fuligni] captures a middle ground between modern and traditional styles” (Galloni).
This "really gorgeous" 94-point Brunello is ready to go - delightfully fresh and full of classic Sangiovese typicity that won’t disappoint, especially at 40% off our regular price. Cheers to that!
