2012 Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse)
by JJ Buckley Fine Wines
On Sale $87.94 (reg. $109.94)
With the 2015 and 2016 vintages currently grabbing the headlines, it can be easy to forget just how good some 2012 Bordeaux have turned out. But savvy buyers will know that outstanding wines can be had from this vintage, including the "simply magnificent" 2012 Beausejour.
The Beausejour vineyard occupies, per Parker, “undeniably one of the great terroirs in all of Bordeaux.” Though it has made top quality wine for centuries, recent years have seen it soar to even greater heights with the arrival of the heavyweight duo of Nicolas Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt.
With a wonderful combination of prime terroir and the savoir-faire of some of Bordeaux’s best winemakers working in harmony, Beausejour has more than fulfilled their potential, as evident by the gorgeous 2012 as well as notching back-to-back RP100 point efforts in 2009 and 2010. But while you'll pay $350+ for triple-digit scores, we’ve got the 2012 Beausejour at a fraction of the price.
"A bright future lies ahead," per the Wine Advocate, so stick a case or two in the cellar and watch this develop beautifully over the next 15-20 years. As Galloni suggests, "don't miss it!" Cheers!
