2013 Bonaccorsi Pinot Noir Cargasacchi Vineyard Santa Rita Hills
by JJ Buckley Fine Wines
On Sale $35.94 (reg. $44.94)
For those who appreciate the more Burgundian style Pinot that can only come from California’s best cool-climate sites, the Bonaccorsi Pinot from Cargasacchi Vineyard is sure to hit the spot, especially at this price!
This low-production gem "is another delicious, vibrant Pinot" from this producer, and with only 250 cases made, it’s tough to get your hands on some. But not only have we've got a few of those limited cases in stock, it's available for the best price around!
Jeannie Bonaccorsi originally founded this tiny cult operation back in ‘99, with her late partner, Michael Bonaccorsi . Back then, their dream had been to eventually work their way up to the Russian River, but like many in the Sta Rita Hills they quickly realized the extraordinary untapped potential around Santa Barbara. Since then, Bonaccorsi’s single-vineyard wines have garnered critical acclaim across the board, and their vineyard sources are the best in the appellation, including Melville, Fiddlestix, and of course Cargasacchi. Bonaccorsi’s Pinots are “impeccably balanced and harmonious” according to Galloni, and are a “savory and complex style of Pinot Noir that will appeal to Burg lovers” (Wine Advocate).
Parker calls this site, "one of my favorite vineyard sites in the Santa Rita Hills", even going so far as to compare wines from Cargasacchi vineyard to Domaine de la Romanee Conti! Though that may be a bit of a stretch, after popping a bottle recently we can certainly agree that Bonaccorsi has pulled some exceptional quality from this unique site. This will give its Burgundian brethren some serious competition, and the sub-$40 price tag is icing on the cake, but you'll want to act fast in order to add some to your collection. Cheers!
