"Readers looking for wines packed with flavor as well as personality can do no better than uber-consultant Paul Hobbs’ line-up..." - Robert Parker
Paul Hobbs’ eponymous label is a Californian icon with his impressive wines regularly earning high scores, including multiple 100-pointers. The 2013 Katherine Lindsay Estate Pinot is a phenomenal example of why meticulous vineyard management and hands-off winemaking matter so much in the bottle, and we have this delicious effort, "another beauty" per Parker, on sale today!
Robert Parker describes Paul Hobbs as “one of my favorite winemakers” and “undoubtedly one of the world’s finest consultants.” His Russian River Valley wine empire is built on impressive, meticulously farmed and crafted Pinot, Chardonnay, and Syrah.
Named for Hobbs’ great-grandmother, the Katherine Lindsay Vineyard sits in a warm, sun filled pocket of the Russian River Valley that gets plenty of cooler maritime weather too. The 2013 vintage offered warm weather without excesses, according to Paul Hobbs. But even in 2013 Pinot Noir needed the cooler evening temperatures to create a wine with energy and vibrancy. Fortunately, this little slice of the Russian River Valley offered just that and Galloni describes the Katherine Lindsay Estate as “lifted, precise and aromatic...a jewel of a wine” with “finesse and pulsating vibrancy” - exactly the kind of qualities we look for in Northern California Pinot.
Paul Hobbs is known best for his distinctive single-vineyard wines and this one is no exception. Contact us today to secure your allocation and enjoy over the next decade (at least). Cheers!
