2015 Chateau Cap de Faugeres 'La Mouleyre'

On Sale: $29.94 (was: $34.94)
Here's an extraordinary 94-point Bordeaux that is built to impress and age - and can be had for a steal. 2015 was a top vintage for Bordeaux, and it added an extra layer of ripeness, making even the most age-worthy examples downright delicious today.
That’s where the value-packed Cotes de Castillon really shines, and Chateau Cap de Faugeres is among its most ambitious advocates with its top cuvee ‘La Mouleyre.’ Built like a classic Right Bank Bordeaux, the 80/20 Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend comes in under $30 and is "a joy to drink" (Jeb Dunnuck)!
La Mouleyre is a true tete de cuvee in more than just name. Only 200 cases are produced from the best vineyard block on the estate. Proprietor SIlvio Denz is no stranger to the finer things as the owner of Lalique Crystal. Yet, as surprising as it is to see Denz stake his claim in the Cotes de Castillon, he also brought on Michel Rolland, consultant to some of the Right Bank's most ridiculously iconic chateaux. Denz’s "spare-no-expense" attitude has paid off, and Dunnuck tasted La Mouleyre multiple times writing, “this beauty never failed to impress.”
Showing a “captivating interplay of depth and elegance” with “very pure fresh raspberry and red plums,” La Mouleyre is one of the most ambitious wines to come out of the Côtes de Castillon. Stock up and enjoy over the next 15-20 years. Cheers!
