by JJ Buckley Fine Wines
On Sale: $109.94 (was: $119.94)
From the creator of ‘The Prisoner’, the Orin Swift ‘Mercury Head’ is a show-stopping Napa Cabernet from some of the valley’s top sites, (including the legendary Stagecoach Vineyard), and the 2015 vintage cannot be missed. Orin Swift’s 'Mercury Head' is really greater than the sum of its parts and demonstrates David Phinney’s “unparalleled blending talents” (Parker). With every vintage since 2012 receiving 95 points or higher from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 'Mercury Head' is no longer an insider's secret but a new benchmark for Napa Cabernet.
2015 continues Mercury Head’s winning streak, with a 95+ score from Wine Advocate, which described it as “full-bodied, firmly structured and densely packed.” 2015 as a whole was “another great one for Napa Valley” according to Jeb Dunnuck, and though yields were down significantly, the quality was high, and “the intensity of floral and spice perfumes that can be found is just astounding” (Wine Advocate).
You'll find the quality of the vintage on full display in the 2015 'Mercury Head', which expertly blends Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford, Atlas Peak, and St. Helena AVAs and ages it in French Oak for a full 18 months lending greater texture, riper tannin, and more lingering spice.
Fans of Napa Valley Cabernet will want to jump on this while it’s available! Cheers!
