Tenuta Marsiliana’s flagship Bordeaux blend from Maremma seems dead set challenging the big names of the region at a fraction of the price, with their 95pt Super Tuscan at under 35 bucks! 2015 was pretty much the definition of a blockbuster vintage for Tuscany, and Marsiliana produced an elegant and structured Cabernet blend “remarkable for its precision and definition” (Wine Advocate). This is the rare cross section of price, vintage, and style that makes it perfect to grab by the case and enjoy over the next 15 years.

Tenuta Marsiliana is an elegant and aristocratic estate that seems airlifted straight out of a different century. Owned by the Prince Duccio Corsini, his sprawling property in Maremma is primarily used as a hunting preserve, and despite the value of vineyard land skyrocketing here, only about 10% is planted to vine. When it comes to conveying a sense of place, the chalky limestone soil (tufa bianca) and picturesque Tuscan pines inform the personality of ‘Marsiliana’. Production is kept low, quality high, and for their grand vin fewer than 500 cases are produced. That makes the price for a 95pt flagship all the more surprising, and we wouldn’t assume this one will stay in stock for long!

95 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Described as the "grand vin" of this estate, the 2015 Marsiliana is remarkable for its precision and definition. This limited-release Tuscan red is a well-structured blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The forest and floral notes are some of the fine details mirroring the vineyards of limestone earth nestled among the Maremma pines. Black fruit is matched seamlessly to savory nuances. The vintage is still young, as this wine is built for the long haul. Drink date 2020-2035"
