We have been more than a little surprised at how enjoyable the 2018 Chablis have been, as warmer vintages can frequently dull the vivacious and nervous energy of these lovely Chardonnays. Among many of the more reliable producers however, the 2018s have proven to be beautiful and accessible expressions with all the hallmarks of Chablis.
“The 2018 Chablis vintage at its best is generous and charming” says the Wine Advocate, and that’s always been a perfect description of the wines coming from Drouhin Vaudon, to which we’d add affordable and unpretentious. The great Drouhin clan has been making Chablis since the 1960s at this domaine, and their ‘Reserve de Vaudon’ is a bit of a signature for the property. Coming from estate-grown vines between Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Milieu, it’s nipping at the heels of those neighboring 1er crus and in 2018 is a charming and ready to enjoy Chablis that we've got for a great price!
