2018 has been a pretty “spectacular vintage” (Vinous) for Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, and if there was ever a year to stock up on these coastal beauties, this is it. Hartford Court is the perfect go-to in a vintage like this one as they craft an extensive lineup of terroir-focused Pinots and Chards that “hold their own against the likes of Marcassin, Aubert, Kongsgaard, etc” (Parker).

Their best however, are cuvees like Land’s Edge, that showcase the exceptional terroir along the true Sonoma Coast at a price point far below their qualitative peers in the region. With double 95pt scores, you don’t want to miss this iteration of Land’s Edge as it’s a beautiful expression of this perfect vintage!

Sourced from two vineyards within sight of the Pacific Ocean (Far Coast and Seascape), Land’s Edge is a unusual cuvee, in between entry level and single vineyard. While we normally assume that the single vineyard releases are going to be the top wines from a producer like this, Land’s Edge is “unquestionably one of the better wines in the range” (Vinous) and the balance the two vineyards contribute is stunning. Sonoma Coast Pinots remain some of the best options in California for pairing with food, as wines like these are complex but never overpowering, and Land’s Edge is an aromatic powerhouse. We are incredibly happy to still have some the 2018s from Hartford Court, and it’s a vintage that is proving to be absolutely incredible for Sonoma, especially at this price point!

95 points, Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Pinot Noir Land's Edge Vineyards is another Sonoma Coast release from this great producer. Medium ruby/purple-hued, with an exotic bouquet of black cherries, blueberries, candied violets, and flowery incense, it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a juicy, racy mouthfeel, supple tannins, and a great finish. It will benefit from a year in bottle and drink brilliantly through at least 2030."

95 points, Wine Enthusiast: "From two vineyard sites just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, this wine is juicy in cranberry and pomegranate. Lifted accents of white pepper, orange peel and rose add complexity and nuance to the robust frame."
