When it comes to Napa’s most in-demand Cabernets, everyone wishes they had jumped in on the ground floor, but without a crystal ball, it’s rare to actually get the chance. Sinegal has only been around a few years, but it’s already making the sort of splash we’d expect for Napa’s next generation, and given the success of their last two vintages things are about to get highly allocated. Their 2019 Estate Cabernet earned 98pts from Vinous and it shows an absolutely world class combination of energy and decadence that you won't want to miss.

David Sinegal bought the old Wolf vineyard in St Helena just about a decade ago, bringing in winemaker Ryan Knoth and oenologist Tony Biagi (Plumpjack, Hourglass). Sinegal quickly developed a reputation as “one of the most exciting new projects in Napa” (Galloni). The vineyard actually dates back to the 1800s when it was known as the Inglewood Estate, and viticulturist Jim Barbour was brought on to bring out its potential. Sinegal started strong in 2013, but the fireworks have really started to go off with the latest releases, with Galloni calling them “brilliant across the board.” Sinegal is seeing its star rise fast, so don’t wait long on this one!

98 points, Vinous: "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is every bit as magnificent as it was last year. A heady, statuesque wine, the 2019 captures all the pedigree of the vintage. Inky red cherry fruit, mocha, licorice and spice race across the palate. The 2019 is bright, deep and powerful, with exceptional balance and tons of class. It's a stunning wine, to say the least. The move towards a slightly less pushed style, with less overt oak signatures, has paid off big time. This is a fabulous showing." (AG)
