Jacquesson's soon to be released Cuvée 739 Extra-Brut is is based on the 2011 vintage and 31% Reserve wines, all from Grand and Premier Cru sites in the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. The 739 is an assemblage of 57% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir and 22% Meunier, all fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in foudres. The unfiltered wine was disgorged in July 2014 with a dosage of 3.5 grams per liter. Medium-intense in its golden color, the Cuvée 739 shows a clear, deep, rich and complex nose of ripe white fruits, bread, honey wax, and spicy aromas intermixed with refreshing chalk and lemon flavors in the background. Full-bodied, lovely, pure and fresh on the palate, with nutty flavors and a stunningly smooth fruit, this is a full-flavored, wide open yet very delicate Champagne with a very fine and well structured mineral finish. This is not a big wine perhaps (although it starts a little bit as such), but a Champagne full of elegance and finesse. It's a great aperitif and food partner for lighter dishes. And a lovely midnight drink anyway. - Stephan Reinhardt

The wood has worked some magic here, adding a savory edge to otherwise sweetly fragrant fruits, dried flowers, almonds and peachy chardonnay fruits. The palate, meanwhile, has plenty of flavoursome peach and lemon-citrus flavors. It's smoothly textured and builds through all savory on the finish. Drink now. Based on the 2011 harvest with 31% reserve wine: 57% chardonnay, 21% pinot noir and 22% pinot meunier fermented and aged in foudres and unfiltered with a low (3.5g/litre) dosage.

A relatively discreet if very pretty nose reluctantly offers up notes of yeast, green apple, lemon peel and a hint of mandarin orange. There is a lovely texture to the distinctly tension-filled and well-delineated flavors that possess solid complexity before terminating in a lingering and bone dry finale that presently evidences a touch of austerity. I would be inclined to hold this for at least a few years first as it is presently very tightly wound.

The NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 739 is a very pretty wine, especially considering it is based on the 2011 vintage. Lemon oil, baked apple and pastry notes open up first, but what stands out most about the 739 is its superb textural finesse and overall polish. A Champagne with soft contours and plenty of forward suppleness, the 739 will drink well right out of the gate. I would prefer to drink it on the early side, in case some of the greener notes typical of the year begin to surface over time. This is an unqualified success from Jacquesson. In 2011, Jacquesson did not bottle any lieu-dits. All the best fruit went into the 739. The blend is 57% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir and 22% Pinot Meunier, with 31% reserve wines. Disgorged October, 2015. Dosage was 3.5 grams per liter.

Jacquesson

Jacquesson is a champagne house with land holdings in two main areas - the Grande Vallee de la Marne (Ay, Dizy, Hautvillers) and the Cote des Blancs (Avize and Oiry). 80% of their grapes are estate, the rest coming from neighbors located in the same Crus. Traditional growing techniques and manual harvesting is practiced. Vinification is carried out in oak casks to allow the wine to breathe. Fermentation usually lasts for three to four months.

In addition to four single vineyard wines, Champagne Jacquesson, produces the Cuvee 700 range- blended wine coming from their three Grand Crus and two Premier Crus holdings. There is also a Cuvee 700 Degorgement Tardif which is aged for nine years before release.
