I wrote a fair bit about the superb Oddero Baroli from this era back in October of 2010,
when reporting on a comparative tasting of the legendary 1971, 1964 and 1958 vintages in the
Langhe. I love the Oddero wines from this era (not that the new releases are not anything but
superb as well!) and these are some of the best-kept secrets out there today for Barolo from this
era. The 1967 is a beautiful and utterly refined bottle of mature Barolo, offering up a very
complex and captivating bouquet of cherries, oranges, woodsmoke, gamebirds, coffee, oregano,
gentle tariness and leather. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and seamless, with its full-bodied
format perfectly resolved today. The wine has superb intensity at the core, excellent complexity
and focus and a very long, tangy and beautifully balanced finish. This is a superb bottle of
Barolo at its peak of maturity. 2011-2030+. 93+
