92+ I have not been drinking a lot of 1975s of late, so I do not know if the suave profile of the ’75 Beychevelle is now more typical of the wines from this vintage, or if it is simply representative of how well this estate has done in 1975. In any case, this is really a superb bottle in the making, as it offers up a classy and pure nose of cassis, sweet cranberries, cigar smoke, a great base of soil, nutskins, just a hint of fresh herbs and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, medium-full and still fairly structured, with a sweet core of fruit, beautiful focus and balance, moderate tannins and great length and grip on the dancing finish. This is a very elegant and pure example of the vintage that is starting to drink very well, but may still improve a bit more with further bottle age.
