Beautifully vibrant color for a 34 year old wine-medium red core with a slightly lighter red rim which becomes orange at the very outer edge. Perfumed Bordeaux-like aromas of red cherry emerge followed by cedar spice box tobacco and graphite. Persistent and elegant with the silky tannins which are completely integrated the finish is subtle and refined. This wine is still very much alive. In fact it is vibrant and fresh in its secondary stage and could easily be mistaken for a mid-1980s Margaux maybe Palmer. The provenance is perfect so drink now or over the next few years.
