After some initial restraint, this showed the quality of its terrior and of Bernard Becot's winemaking skills in his tenth vintage after acquiring the chateau. Aromas of dried tobacco leaf, dried plum, and cassis mingle with pepper and fersh earth. The palate mirrors the nose, offering soft flavors of dried coffee and boysenberry, with a shot of acidity and subtle tannins on the mid palate. This classic 1979 should be consumed now.
