The bouquet of coconuts apricots grilled almonds and spicy oak is sensational. In the mouth the wine is decadently rich full bodied and remarkably similar in taste texture and viscosity to d'Yquem. Retasted twice in 1989 with equally enthusiastic notes. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000.

Chateau de Fargues

Chateau de Fargues is one of the oldest estates in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux and has been in the Lur Saluces family since 1472. Wine production only began in the 19th century, and not until 1935 were white grapes planted.

Chateau de Fargues’ 17 hectares of vines are located on a clay-gravel plateau with a clay and hardpan subsoil. The vines are an average of 35 years old and consist of two varieties: Semillon (80%), which gives richness, roundness, and structure to the wine, and Sauvignon Blanc (20%), which contributes wonderful aromas.
